Re-Opening Doors into Vancouver’s Strathcona Neighbourhood, a Conversation with Daphne Marlatt and Carole Itter
Presented in partnership with the Blue Met Festival, this event will screen a new interview with Daphne Marlatt and Carole Itter, the editors of the Oral Historical book Opening Doors in Vancouver's East End: Strathcona (1979). In this interview, SpokenWeb team members Mathieu Aubin and Deanna Fong interview poet Daphne Marlatt and artist Carole Itter about the book, discussing the pair’s recollections of conducting interviews, their experience of revisiting that work today, and the neighbourhood’s transformation since the book’s publication.
A Q&A period with Marlatt and Itter, as well as the two interviewers, will follow the screening.
